if West Ham got the stadium for a Β£12k kickback to the Tories, then you've got to say it's money well spent..
I think you've got to oil the politicial wheels a bit more than that to get the olympic stadium funded by the taxpayer...on a managerial note, mr j. wilson noted tactical scholar has written a nice article on managers winning the league with different clubs. You'll be shocked to know it's not been done by that many...

"Wealthy clubs tend to conservative appointments and that means the mavericks and the geniuses β men such as Busby, Shankly or Clough, or indeed Mourinho in his first spell at Chelsea β no longer get their chance until their powers have begun to be spent. With shareholders to satisfy, perhaps that is understandable, but it is hard to avoid the thought that a more radical appointment, while obviously a risk, has the potential to take a club to greater heights."

I'd rather admit to a dodgy payment to secure the deal than claim it was a freely chosen donation to those cunts.

Arch Tory Karen Brady in making donation to Tory party shocker.

Just wow.
It's all incredibly fishy but that's the icing on the cake.
Well done West Ham for getting such an amazing deal. It's almost as good as what the banks got out of Gordon Brown.

He wasn't my first choice, but with Chris Powell as assistant I think we've done a great bit of business here. Just need to make sure we get someone good for recruitment.

I'm really looking forward to next season. And indeed the yentzing season inbetween. The championship is going to be quite some battle and you never know, I might get to see some wins which will be a novelty.

Finally gets him off our payroll. Nice to see you going for an ex-Leicester double - both are well liked. Be nice to see you not bottle it next season so we can have out customary 6 points the season after.

So, we're all up for this England game, right? Sounds like the people of Sunderland are.

Powell is a former Derby player too so there's decent club links there for people who care about the history rubbish. Pearson is also local, from Heanor, although I hear he grew up a Notts County fan. Anyway, I don't think we can make many more excuses for fucking up promotion now. He's a no-nonsense manager and that's what we've needed for a couple of seasons now.

Chris Powell? Yes please.
Is there a premier league tax at work here or is two years on your contract enough to make you more expensive than a World Cup winner and a player who when in form is sublime?
Er. Yes. I think you may even have talked about it before.
