  • whoa, the young cyclocross world champ upsetting some big names, amongst which, the Pantzerwagen...
of course it's just the type of explosive short tt that should suit him, but still, very well done

  • Was his motor in the BB or the back wheel?

  • Cyclocross champ - probably pushed his bike

    #marginalslain

  • you just gotta love Mario Cipollini:

"I'm 49 but if I were to train for a month and a half, I'd outsprint any Italian pro. Some of them I can even beat in my current form, although I won't mention any names."

    From Rouleur

  • Did you hear him slagging off Cav?

For an almighty Po fiend he'd do well to stfu.

  • Jo dombro is funny. Entertaining on twitter. Witty guy.

  • I thought Cippolini had got over Cav cycling one legged past him in a TT ?

Look at the love back when Cav won Milan - San Remo

  • I paraphrase but he was saying that Cavendish isn't a great sprinter and that he was lucky to be part of a generation without decent competition and that's the only reason he won so many tour stages in the past, and now that Kittel and Greipel are around he's not likely to win any more.

  • How many times has he beaten Gripes and Kites?

  • Cav is younger than Greipel and has beaten him a stack of times through his career. Kittel is stronger than Cav now, but peak Cav versus peak Kittel, I'd go for Cav.

  • Has sprinting changed now though? Days of the big boys like Mario are over and now you've got guys like Sagan etc who can also climb as well as sprint.

  • Has sprinting changed now though?

    No.

  • Yeah apparently not as Kittel has 10kg on Cip.

  • you mean Cav was already on the decline in the Tour de France 2013?

  • Arguably. He rode the Giro before the tour in 2013 where he won 5 stages and the points jersey, so maybe he wasn't on peak form?

  • Cipollini bemoaned the use of lead out trains. Oh the irony...

  • How many grand tours did cippo complete in his career?

  • When? He didn't in that interview.

  • the stats. Cav rode more, Cipo won more

  • Pretty meaningless without knowing what the wins are in. Cipo could have won all of his in provencal italian crits whilst cav is getting fewer but they're tour stages.

  • Cippo has the record for Giro stages, no? But that was when it was just a provencal Italian crit series ;)

  • So what's the exchange rate for a TdF stage win compared to a Gd'I stage win? And does the fact that Super Mario's Italian affect the exchange rate?

  • ask @plexarice ;)
