Purpose built fast commuter - £250 OBO

Posted on
  • Hi, I'm leaving the UK soon and getting rid of my city commuter bike.

The frame is a debadged 58 cm Graham Weigh aluminium road frame and carbon forks built up as a 1x9. I'm a former MTB racer, frame builder and mechanic. Built this up at London Bike Kitchen a couple years back. Stiff, light and very fast. Maybe 500 miles of commuting to work before I was switched to home working.

Won't part or ship, come pick it up in London near Turnham Green Station. £250 or best offer.

    Standard basic Alpina headset
SRAM S7 shifter and rear dr
Shimano 105 hubs laced to 32 hole Mavic Open Pro rims with DT double butted spokes
Conti Gatorskin Hardshell 25mm tires, pretty good shape 75% I guess?
    Shimano 9spd mtb casette, I think 11-34 or 11-32
    Shimano 105 cranks
Surly 44t stainless steel chain ring, no ramps, deep cut teeth, never thrown the chain in a 1x9
    Miche performance brakes
    Dirty Harry levers
    Ritchey aluminium stem
Some sort of funky seatpost, might be race face, I forget
nearly new Selle Italia 1990 Flite titanium saddle
Bontrager bars cut down for better lane splitting
    Specialized lock on grips
Time ATAC double sided pedals (flats and clips)
    Crud Road Racer fenders

Will throw in Profile AirWing bullhorns. Brand new, never got around to fitting them mostly because i would have had to fabricate a shifter mount. Inc black Specialized tape.

  • Nice setting, isn't that Chiswick House?

  • Can I ask how you were going to add gears to the bullhorn? Brakes on the bar ends?

  • @anidel yes it is Chiswick House. I live in a little flat so swung by a mate's place near the house to wash the bike. Figured a nice sunny day at Chiswick House would be a good spot for a few pictures.

@wildwest I was going to fabricate a new mount for the SRAM X7 trigger shifter to accommodate the thicker diameter bull horn bars. Basically put the trigger shifter and dirty harry levers up on the flat section of the bars. I never got very far along on this plan, so I have no idea if it would have worked :)

  • v nice, looks well made and a good price, have a bump

  • *I have no affiliation with this seller
