[?swap?] SRAM Red22 Groupset for Dura Ace 9000

Posted on
  • Looking for a straight swap for my SRAM Red22 groupset for your Dura Ace 9000.
Bought from brand new last year. No marks or scuffs and everything is clean as a whistle. There's nothing wrong with it, shifting is excellent and responsive. It's just the cabling I'm annoyed at. Had enough and couldn't be arsed to be in that situation again in the future.

Everything included apart from the cassette which I sold.
    Red22 Shifters
    Front and Rear Derailleur
    Front and Rear Brakeset
    172.5 53/39 crankset
    Italian threaded Bottom bracket
Will include a Wheels MFG BB30 adapter so you can run this on your modern bb30 frames.

Got no pics so here's a stock one when I have it on a bike

If you need photos, then I'll get some for you, but to be honest, it's the same groupset you'll see online. There's literally no scratches or scuffs on it Unless I'm mistaken in which I need to double check tonight

I might be willing to sell but not sure how much it'll be yet. For now, just looking for a swap.
Reason for trying to get rid of it is the cabling, I've recabled twice already and it has always been a nightmare, maybe I'm doing something wrong, but these shifters is a freaking pain in the ass.

  • If you sell & split, I'd be keen on shifters, calipers and derailleurs.

  • yyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy

  • It's all about DA! Have a bump! =)

  • I have declared 2016/17 season Sram Red 22

  • It's all about DA! Have a bump!

    This.

@amey you had the Red for nearly a month now. Time to change for my 7700.

  • A month is a year in #buyer years so yeah .. NOS 7800 and we may talk.

  • A week is a year in #buyer years so yeah ..

    FTFY

  • shifting cables are a nightmare on the sram stuff. ive learnt you need to use cables which are not cut at the end and need to apply lots of pressure to get the cable through.

  • It's when we push the cable through the shifters. Needs a soldered end to go through properly, or else it will fray.

  • Cables can be a nightmare on any groupset; depends what frame of mind you're in. But yeh, you need to use fresh cables with soldered ends. I always found putting a small bend in the end of the cable helped loads with SRAM shifters.

  • really? Never had that issue and I was doing it for the first time .. I generally idiot check by putting cable through the other end to check how the routing is.

  • Did that as well, it's just really really annoying. The interwebz has a lot of frustrated people reporting the same issues. Some of them has even dismantled a part of the shifter just to route it properly. My last recabling session, I got lucky and it went through with no problems

  • Can maybe sell for £550 or something. For some reason, the 10 speed version is selling for £500 0.0

  • Gents. May I suggest dipping the end of the cut cable in some super glue, waiting a few minutes, and then doing your routing?

  • Uh-huh. Haven't thought of this. Might give it a shot tonight

  • Where are you seeing the 10 speed version for that price?

  • I don't even bother with putting the cable ends on anymore. Superglue does the job

  • yep exactly as shroom replied to you. can be a nightmare to get those cables in. sometime take longer than making the entire bike! once they are in.... relief, but if you like to change the cables often...... not for me.

  • good idea. could save me a lot of hassle!
