Just put some Taiwanese ultra light skewers on. They might kill me but they look so good.

Nice Shamals... but that stem is terrible.

• #1866
Indeed, this stem would have let some grams been shaved off and kept the same bar position:

Please show a nice installation of a 2-joint Ergostem - I've yet to see one.

not with those pedals.

I like Look, and I like looking at them, but I don't like looking through years of catalogues trying to work out when they made certain frames, because, like all humans, I'm lazy.
Is there a handy resource which outlines Look framesets by year? The Wiki page is somewhat helpful as to how the numbering works...

Just joined the club with a KG231 - will post pics once I have given it a clean, but wondering whether it would be too out of character to go with a shimano 105 groupset like this one from the 90's:
I would have thought Campy would be more common, but I have been finding it difficult to get solid info. I want to do the frame justice but don't have the dorrah to go for a top range group, as I have seen on a few of these that others have built up. I already have the 105 group, minus the cranks, so definitely would prefer that. There may be an ergostem destined for this build if I don't use it on my deathtrap (and since it's the only other Look component I have, besides pedals!) so wondering how that would look with the more standard 105. -

yeah - apologies to anyone else that wanted it. I had not intention of gazzumping or jumping the queue. May have just gone on PMs rather than dibs?
Was it you @mattyc who painted over the yellow bits around the lugs with black? I am thinking of going back to yellow - do you reckon paint remover (and how would this affect the carbon clearcoated areas in the middle) and respray, or just spray right over the black?
I'm tempted to redo the decals as well, since they are looking a bit knackered... -

No I purchased it rattle canned with Dura Ace shifters and FSA carbon cranks... I began to remove the black paint with acetone which worked well but as the frame was too big for me I sold it on and found another Look in my size. If I were you I'd leave it as is, build it up with the 105 and ride it to make sure you are happy with the size etc before attempting any restoration...
