Internal routing rubber seal

Posted on
  • My new Aende has internal rear brake routing, but it's of the kind where the rounting consists of outer brake cable passing all the way through the frame and out again (i.e. outer brake casing from the brake lever all the way to the caliper).

There's a bit of a hole around the entry / exit holes on the frame. I've seen rubber grommet type things used on old Gios frames to seal this up from water. Are these available? What are they called and does anyone know where to get them from?

    Cheers!

  • Probably something very similar to that - thanks very much, I'll give them a go.

  • Try Sugru http://sugru.com
I made a really neat seal on an old frame with it, the cable seal that came with the frame was always falling out.

  • Ha - that stuff looks awesome. I want some anyway :) Does it come off ok? It's not going to bond itself permanently to my frame (it's steel if that makes a difference)

  • Thought I'd resurrect this thread rather than start a new one. I need some new top tune internal cable routing seals as above.

They're for my 1990 basso which has some that look like the attached. They're basso branded but I reckon those Cinelli seals look like they'd work. I can only find them for silly money though - anyone know of an alternative or just a cheap place to get hold of the cinelli seals? (3 year old link above is 3 years old)

  • Cheers squire, I did see that listing and was hoping to find them in colours other than blue or red (which i failed to mention). Think I'll just order some anyway though.
