Thanks! Yes same soft spot over here (owning a 992 and ZX1). Reluctantly selling as this one is just a tad too big :/

Hi there, any idea what the model of this frame was?
I have a 979, 992 and an OCT - the Lotto team edition before this. I was just reading up about Lotto changing to GT mid-season in 1999, I believe at the time that the original Vitus company sold (?) I've never really seen this model before, nor do I know much about it & it seems quite hard to track down.
Cheers

No sorry I have no idea what model it was. It was made for the Lotto team going by the engravings however.
There's more curious Vitus frames around. There's a Vitus Lotto 992 with a monostay on marktplaats at the moment for instance.
I'm selling this Lotto team bike from 1999 (it's just a bit too big for me). It is one of the later bikes made by the original Vitus company. The frame has a very refined design, with an integrated lower headset cup like on the Vitus 992's. It has one of the cleanest threaded headset setups I've seen. Carbon monostay and nice smooth welds all around.
Apparently the frame was re-painted for 2000 when Vitus became the bike sponsor for the MemoryCard Jack&Jones team (started by Bjarne Riis, the team is currently known as Tinkoff). According to the serial number the frame was made for pro rider Peter Wuyts. Andrei Tchmil won the 1999 Milan San Remo race on this type of frame.
Frame material: Aluminium + Carbon rear fork
Fork material: Carbon (Time fork)
Measurements:
Seattube: 58 cm (centre-centre)
Toptube: 58 cm (c-c)
Headtube: 163 mm
Seatpost diameter: 27.2 mm
Quill diameter: 22.2 mm
The frame comes with a headset and Shimano bottom bracket installed. Has a race number bracket welded to the frame. (Cinelli stem in the images is not included)
