It's supposed to be auto-focus.

If it's anything like the Nikon AF2, then it's probably working fine. The focus seems mechanically linked to the shutter button and stops at the appropriate scale. It's hard to describe but yeah, it's nothing like modern in-lens focusing, noise wise.

Forgive the digital shot, I bought this little Canon AF sprint from eBay as mint condition but I'm having trouble working out if it is actually auto focusing? Does it actually auto focus or is it fixed focus?
