is there a better way for modifying and inline post?
Use a cone and slot the post rather than using a wedge. You want to copy Cinelli, not Kalloy :-)
The Atax double cone design is even better

Much appreciated! I know converting the seat tube to a traditional clamp is easier, just doesn't seem like cricket on these frames.

Would be interested in this endeavour. I presume this was your starting point.
not quite sure how this is used though;
The binder fastener is accessed underneath the opening in the seat-tube

The F.Moser Leader AX I got at my parent's house (holiday ride).
I built it up with a cheap Shimano 600 STI I found on-line, not in great conditions, but works. Forgot to bring proper stem and handlebars from here when I went back there this weekend, so grabbed a cheap stem/handlebar combo (the quill adapter was already on the bike). Pedals are crap hubs are Sora, but overall it works and was able to assess that size is ok :)
Some crap dude cut the seat tube down and put a ring around it :-( paint and chrome are in great conditions though. Will bring this one up to proper standards during the coming months, but it'll be slow as she's in Italy.
Tires have been changed with new ones (forgot to take picture with them), the ones you see had to be thrown away.

Ah, makes sense. I really would be able to find use of a long, black quill seatpost.
Would like to see if you are successful, not that I doubt you at all. -

Three atm. This one, another Leader AX in my correct size (54) which is still to be shipped to me (blu and yellow colors) and the Moser you'll find in the current projects under "Sceriffo" (if you search).
The last one is too big at 57cm and I am, sadly, going to sell it soon. -

Never heard of a Mecacycle but I do have this Moser badged Rigi. I suspect though that it is for the Mecacycle because from what I can see the seat tube is much longer than on the Moser Rigi and stem pictured is not exactly super leggera.

@anidel Sure it'll be worth the wait once built up. Is there a build thread for this that I've most probably overlooked?
@Enigmatic Phwoar interesting frame, from reading the original sale thread it sounds like it has some pedigree too from the main man himself! Love the curved bridge on the seat stays and seat tube(s).

The mint green on arrived yesterday. I'll be swapping the smaller red one out soon because i've realised it's too small. Love these frames!

Still trying to decide what to do with it. No evidence of provenance has ever emerged so it may all be fanciful and in which case it would be better built as a Rigi. If however the rumours could be substantiated then obviously it should stay as a Moser Rigi.

I'm planning on swapping the groupo out like for like. I think i'll need a taller headset though, a Stronglight Delta would be nice if anyone has one. I'm planning on a new cockpit possibly too, I'm thinking Nitto Technomic and Noodle combo. And yeah if anyone comes across a matching fork i would be interested. Also the red one will available pretty soon if anyone is after a 52 ctc.
Thanks very much, couldn't quite work out was was going on. I want an expanding seatpost but on an inline post and had thought about the below design on a Thomson Elite for example. Other than having to take the saddle off to adjust height, is there a better way for modifying and inline post? @mdcc_tester ?
