Hi. Very nice bike. Have you sold it or is it still available?
-
• #3
Hi Dush
Still available - only put it up this morning. I'll update here if someone has dibs or it gets sold.
It's currently located in SE1 if you want to view.

• #4
what size it is?
-
• #5
o right.. 56cm... sorry.

'Nice tight clearances' - is it meant for 27" wheels then?
Does it have the signature Salmon seat tube recess? -
• #7
Not sure what you mean - 700c wheels are slightly smaller than 27" wheels so if anything the 700cs that're on there now would make the clearances larger. Anyway the diff is too small to call - the wheels on the bottom pic are 27" and the current ones (on top) are 700c.
Seat tube is pretty standard from what I can tell but as you'd expect it's all French sizing. Have put a pic up below.

Just went down and unlocked this badboy for the first time in a few months and I was a bit surprised by how bad the paintwork had gotten. Uploading a few pics here so it's clearer - it really is quite fucked.

are you sure it is a salmon - it doesn't have any of his flourishes and the rear clearance is huge compared to most of his bikes, - what's the frame number?
do you have the original 27" wheelset instead of the 700c? -
• #10
Yes I am, and no I don't.

Reduced to £225 or £175 without the cockpit / brake.
-
• #12
Still available? Does it have a back brake hold. Flip flop hub?
-
• #13
Still available. Frame is undrilled for brakes both front and rear. Think the hub is fix fix but I'll check this evening.
-
• #14
Cool. Does it have space to drill? Thanks.
-
• #15
use a clamp on brake?
-
• #16
How old is this then? Looks like a really nice mid/late 1950s frame to my eye, with the Nervex Pro lugs and wrap over seat stays.
-
• #17
It does but clamp on brake would be much kinder to it. It comes with a clamp on brake if you buy it whole.
-
• #18
Y'know I've no idea. The guy who sold it to me said that the paintjob is original 1980s but you're absolutely right about the nervex lugs - very much an earlier thing. It's got 80s Salmon decals on it tho
-
• #19
That's a neat looking frame :)
Seat stays look rather similar to this jobby.....

Good spot, they look almost identical. What's that frame?
-
• #21
It's possible this could be a Flying Scot, Hilary Stone, or FW Evans, might want to look a bit around the web to verify.
-
• #22
I'd be surprised if it were a British frame - all the sizing is French, plus I bought it off a French guy who said his dad bought it direct from Daniel Salmon back in the 80s - but I suppose its possible that someone has put Daniel Salmon stickers on an different frame.
Either way, price drop bump - now £200 or £150 without the cockpit and brake combo.
-
• #23
£190 or £140
-
• #24
Still availible? Dibs if you're up for posting....
-
• #25
Sorry mate not really up for posting.
Now £180 complete or £130 without the cockpit.
You guys are breaking my balls here.
Morning kids
Selling my handbuilt Daniel Salmon track bike which has been my regular ride over the last few years. Nice tight clearances, and some lovely components on here, but the paintwork is beaten up - it could do with a respray but I've not wanted to touch that (original!) metallic pink paintjob. Pure track bike, undrilled front and rear.
Cheap as it's begun to develop a creak in the bottom bracket and I don't want to have to deal with it.

Crappy pic from this morning, will replace soon:
And this is how she looked last year in the sunshine (I've since replaced the bars and wheels):
