It's when we push the cable through the shifters. Needs a soldered end to go through properly, or else it will fray.

yep exactly as shroom replied to you. can be a nightmare to get those cables in. sometime take longer than making the entire bike! once they are in.... relief, but if you like to change the cables often...... not for me.

shifting cables are a nightmare on the sram stuff. ive learnt you need to use cables which are not cut at the end and need to apply lots of pressure to get the cable through.
