I'd say Emery and De Boer would be the ones to get...
But suppose it also depends on the director of football, are there decent ones out there? @jaw, @Tenderloin, @Prole.?

Emery and de Boer would be excellent choices, as would Koeman.
As for successful directors of football, how often do you see them move and replicate the success for which they have become known for?
At most clubs these men, they are pretty much all men, seem to have a long history in a number of roles at these clubs.
Someone like Giggs should be groomed to become a DoF at Man Utd.

I was told last night.....
We interviewed Pellegrini, did not really impress
We interviewed Moyes, but he is 3rd or 4th in the queue
We expect to interview Emery, he may now be the most likely
We are waiting for a yes/no from Koeman before approaching Southampton but feeling is will be no - he is preferred candidate so trying very hard to convince him
We will interview De Boer if we cannot get Koeman & are not sure on Emery
We will appoint a Director of Football
As always huge pinch of salt. The sources are well-connected & more or less in agreement but sometimes that just means they are getting fed the same bollocks
