  • I read loads about the potential benefits of baby aspirin (the size of the dose is lower than a standard aspirin). I'd definitely consider it if I was at risk of an unprovoked DVT again, although I don't know all the potential risks.

    I've read a few studies (this for example: http://archinte.jamanetwork.com/mobile/article.aspx?articleid=611391) that were looking at the impact of aspirin vs warfarin on post op patients risk of DVT.

    From memory haven't seen anything on its impact after a DVT has already been suffered.

  • There was a big study that showed Aspirin taken daily by (I don't remember the age brackets) 45-50 year old people reduced the chance of death by a decent amount when they were 60-65yo but there wasn't a similar effect in other age brackets or something so being younger than that I'm worried that taking it is a waste of time or harmful. On the flipside being predisposed to clotting means I'd like to avoid another case of DVT and potential death...

    I'd visit the GP for answers but they're as useful as tits on a bull in most cases.
