Don't worry Jon, I'm sure you'll be there kicking some ass on the day

Looking forward to racing and um... drinking at this

Definetly taking Monday off to fully enjoy the beers after.
Last year in the sun finishing off the Canopy was amazing

I dream of being able to take the Monday off.
Oh well, 12 hour day at work with stinking hangover it is then.

Being Track Dad is a full time job. You knew that when you signed up..
-
• #9
I think he expected the 'Dad' bit, just not the 'in-or-out-election-ruins-Supermad-for-Tricky' bit.
Not that that will stop him getting overwhelmingly battered 3 races in....

Will Robert Fosterman be riding again?
-
• #14
Maybe he is.......... ;)
-
• #15
We're only three days away! No Forsterman, sorry ;)
Looks like we'll have decent weather (well, not raining at least) and a full field for the madison and sprint, with a nearly full field for the women. There are still spots for women to enter on the day, £25, sign on closes at 12.
We will also got these brilliant Super Madison t-shirts for the sells on the day, £20 to you. I picked them up from the screen printers yesterday and they look brilliant, even if I do say so myself. Sorry about the massive photos...

I'm looking forward to watching some of the racing. Any idea if there'll be an ice cream van in attendance?
-
• #18
We haven't arranged one, if anyone knows a local Mr Whippy please give him a shout :D
-
• #19
Ta. Will have the kids in tow, so will need to bribe them with the promise of an ice cream.

Last year we just had @mrs_socks make B endless babyccinos. He had like 9 of them. Slept well on the way home too.

Top spectating afternoon, many thanks......

Great to see so many people there, enjoying the racing. I hardly saw any as I'd persuaded my 6 year old to bring her bike with her, then had to chase her around the tracks around the back of the velodrome. She had a great time!
We did get some quality heckling in of @hillbilly and @dan in what looked like a points race for sprinters though, which was fun.

It was an amazing day! Thanks to all who came out and spectated, heckled, drank, gave money to make the sprinters hurt themselves (LoL), raced, volunteered, commied and generally made the day the great success it was.
Also but thanks for putting up with my ramblings on the mic all day 😂

Ah, so that was you, was it? I didn't make the connection but was impressed that you kept up the stream of comments for 5 hours plus. I arrived after a ride over to nab a bicycle tag of bike in Ealing, and was joined by Mrs Ludd and our Luddette, and had a fab afternoon. Many thanks.
It's nearly that time of year again!
Supermad is back on Sunday 19 June and the final event, Big Rob Jefferies' Super Madison points race is now part of the National Hard Track Endurance League.
There will be a full program of events, including madison races, sprints (National Sprinters League), women's races, Ron Beckett's Double Harness Pursuit (mixed male/female madison pursuit), the now infamous sprinters' scratch race (with random cash primes donated by the spectators for added carnage) and keirins for men and women among others.
There will be a huge cash prize pot provided by Brixton CC, plus prizes very kindly donated by Canopy Beer Co. and Talbot Frameworks
As always this event is free to spectators, with beer provided by Canopy and jerk chicken, rice and peas at Captain Cliff's famous BBQ, plus stalls from Brixton Cycles, Talbot Frameworks and Wally Happy's bike jumble.
Rider entry for the Madison and Sprint events is in advance only, with entry on the day for the women's events only. Entry in advance is £15, on the day £25.
The sprint qualifying time trial will be at 11am and the main event will be from 12.30 - 5pm.
