Here is one I randomly made up last week that turned out to be really great! 40km loop, starts at the bottom of Muswell Hill, goes through Barnet Gate, north of Hadley, Cockfosters and Arnos Park. Its a bit hilly which makes it a great training route. It gets quite scenic and low traffic around the halfway point. Only thing to watch out for is that it takes you out on the A1 right after Barnet Gate.

Staying near Poole for a week, a part of the country I know nothing about. Anyone got any routes? Short, medium or long, I'm all ears

Hey. I think 30-50 miles would be good as it's a family holiday so me disappearing for half a day won't go down too well.
@fussballclub - thanks for that one, will keep it up my sleeve in case I can bugger off for a long one!

I have seen a website re cycle routes in France that has lots of routes shown on an interactive map. You can click on the routes and get info on them. It is not this one: en.francevelotourisme.com/base-1/itineraires - planning a North to South of France this summer and this map would be really useful. Any suggestions? Cheers

Eurovelo? Not France specific but I seem to recall it had a similar facility.

Cross post from Route from London (Marylebone) to Leamington Spa
Planning on riding to Leamington Spa from London on August 20th. I've drafted the following route, trying to avoid canal towpaths and major A roads, and broadly following the train route for any bailers.
Anyone have any suggestions for alterations?

cheers for response - no, I don't think so -they only have a couple of primary routes. I'm sure the one I saw was far more like Sustrans site but for France, so many different cycle paths etc noted.

Hello - looking for general France input if anyone has experience. Broadly planned (and booked airbnbs) a gentle roll through France per the map below. Anyone got any must-see's/best roads/vineyards/villages etc.... any tips welcomed, about to start drawing specific routes!

/\ in case anyone else wonders I found what I remembered having seen - if you plan routes using rwgps and select the open source bike map option you see all suggested bike routes...

Does anyone have any routes, from London to Suffolk, specifically to Fressingfield, thinking of doing some touring with the missus to her friends who live there...
Thinking of amending the dunwich dynamo route as Fressingfield is quite close, but hoping someone can save me the effort. Many thanks

thanks for that, I've added it to my ride with gps routes here,
https://ridewithgps.com/routes/15425167
I'm probably going to have to change from the free version to a subscription based one, so I can do these sorts of things myself..
The route doesn't look to heinous, will probably attempt this next year, as missus is out of leave right now, though would be a nice late summer/early autumn two dayer...

Bit of advice for a work colleague. they live E17 8AS in Walthamstow and our office is on Torrington Place, what is the best quiet route they can take? I know the bit from Dalston as it's my route but not sure of the best way from Walthamstow.
Gracias!

Your colleague lives a few roads away from me. I work in N1 7GT. The route I take is through Jubilee Park in Leyton, through the Olympic Park and then along Regents canal via Victoria Park. I come off the canal in Hoxton, but I believe the canal path continues onto Kings X, so they could come off around there. I used to go along Lea Bridge road and via Dalston, and still do if it's dark or raining but, even though the canal route is longer, it is traffic (and traffic light free) so doesn't add as much time as you might think.
I'm dreading the clock change more than ever since I discovered this route in. I think I'll continue to at least ride in this way through the winter, though.
I haven't got a route, but I regularly ride around Hitchin/Luton. There are some lovely roads and views around the villages of Whitwell, Preston, Shillington and Hexton, and there is a great little hill (with its own local Hill Climb race) near Barton-Le-Clay on Sharpenhoe Road.
