I've changed my mind - one set of tubs and one of clinchers. what are mavic reflex like for cross? if no, then what light tubs are suitable? Preferably alu as I'd like to build them myself and I'm not confident enough for carbon.

Reflex's are the classic cross rim, maybe a bit outdated now.

If you (or whoever's gluing them) is inexperienced in cross tubs I'd go for a wider rim (i.e the Major Tom) which will give you more glueing surface area.
