  • At Will Melling - love the newspaper boards, I've got a few funny ones somewhere which have no artistic merit but I'll try to dig out anyway.

The cub pictures are great - interested in whether you took them when the mum was around or not? The vixen must really trust if you she let you get that near when she was about...

  • Amazing fleeting light

  • Anyone who has ever wandered through Manchester Market Street on a Saturday has seen Alan Dent busking outside Primark. He’s a really lovely, intelligent bloke. I sat with him for a while at the weekend and he talked to me about Buddhism and the subjects he studied at University. He then read me the following quote:

“The religion of the future will be a cosmic religion. It should transcend personal God and avoid dogma and theology. Covering both the natural and the spiritual, it should be based on a religious sense arising from the experience of all things natural and spiritual as a meaningful unity. Buddhism answers this description. If there is any religion that could cope with modern scientific needs it would be Buddhism.” – Albert Einstein.

    (Sorry if massive)

  • Really nice shots.

  • Yeah very nice, @c0gsucker - especially like the first one.

  • Also Will these cross-processed ones are really great, they have something haunting to them.
Meant to post these in the analog thread though I guess?
What camera is this? An Olympus XA by chance?

  • Thanks @mi7rennie & @ItkI

  • Great shots man.
That quote reminds me of this one by none other than the Dalai Lama:

“If scientific analysis were conclusively to demonstrate certain claims in Buddhism to be false, then we must accept the findings of science and abandon those claims.”

  • Fox - the fox pics are taken from the kitchen/living room windows with a 300mm lens. The cubs are less nervous than the mother and will come closer to the house. The mother just sits there and lets them. The mother is quite a nervous fox altogether.
Tina - they would have been taken with a Lomo. I was in to Lomo before it was fashionable, you know. I do occasionally look in the other thread and it's good to see that there is a safe space for the psychologically damaged where they can pursue their tragic compulsions. I wouldn't want to take on the role of enabler though.

  • Thanks!
I might bust that quote out next time I see him.

  • As seen below if anyone would like new untouched copy Magnum photo book cost £25
yours for a tenner collect E.Putney....I bought an extra by accident !
