Quite!
Thread on the Garmin forum suggests it is a known issue that might get fixed: "Thank you all for reporting the issue. We have passed the information on to the Edge Touring team. We are investigating the root cause and apologize for the inconvenience."
I've rolled back to 2.9 and will stay there for the time being!
DAMMIT ALL!
Firmware of Edge Touring updated to 4.0.
I had it nicely set up so when it loaded the route it would do no calculation of its own and just plonk a pink line on the map that I would follow (no white arrows on it or anything). All turn guidance set to Off.
This no longer works in 4.0 and loading any route makes it display the dreaded "calculating" which it does for ages (about 2 minutes yesterday for a 7 mile route) and calculates a slightly shitter version of what I'd planned. Both its version and my original are then displayed on the map, but if I follow mine then I get "U-Turn" messages anytime I deviate from what it thinks I should be doing. Also does the annoying thing of zooming into the map at junctions - should be useful in theory but unit is too slow - it essentially blank screens then slowly loads the junction, then takes an age to go back to normal map screen.
Now how the hell do I roll back to what I had before? Anyway of knowing what firmware you were previously on?
Ahg!
