My steel roof bars locked into the gutter rail have flexed so i need to upgrade to something more industrial, on a w124 it may be more of an issue. Roof tents are F**king heavy.

Indeed they are, here's ours on a steel rack, gutter rails don't like the weight either, some form of padding between clamp and rail helps

Thanks, chocks are great when there's no flat ground which can mean bad nights sleep. used to use rocks/wood/anything else but chocks make it a bit easier

absolutely, mine is 210x145 but it's the medium, smaller ones are more like 180x130 i think

@b&d @Hefty it was heaven. Three hours of a A and B road nirvana! I can't get over how smooth she is and the power is deceptive. You have to keep an eye on the turbos spooling up.

I'm getting to know the car so was feather light on the accelerator but even so - flippin' 'eck!
