  • Oh :-/

    Fuck that!

  • Yeah, sucks. In fact one of them is totally unrideable and just sat downstairs ready to be turned into a coffee table or something. Shame really as it's 4w quicker than a FFWD front disc at 48kph.

  • What are the new BritishCheatBikesâ„¢ like?

Team GB now have a mainstream mass-production frame manufacturer as team sponsor, the Rio track bikes will be the 2017 Cervelo T-whatever

Presume they've been testing some shit in other track meets?

Look at the footage from world cups - they've been on a mix of the old UKSI bike and the T4

  • Really? That's a surprise. How do the Pro 5 spokes test?

What would be your recommendation for an 'affordable' (not iO) front wheel for sprinting / 200's?

  • They won't use the Cervelos for sprint events.. and Trott will be on a UKSi bike too for the womnium/team pursuit. The team pursuit will also be on UKSI. Basically only they've only been using Cervelos for mass start stuff in UCI events that no-one at BC cares about.

Hats off to BC for finding a bike sponsor making uglier track bikes than the UKSI ones though... Bravo.

  • Ah, so the lack of medals will be due to using legal bikes this time 'round.

  • I've not tested a Pro 5 spoke. For sprinting something like that or a FFWD? Or a tubular H3 with a 19mm Pista Evo, the budget choice. Depending on how you might flex them the Chinese 86mm U shape fronts are another secret quick one (22mm tyre).

  • Cheers.
Not entirely sold on a H3 for an outside track though. Only asked about the Pro one because I saw a good deal on one yesterday - I guess if they're good enough for Hoogerland and Ligtlee they're good enough for me :)

  • The £600 one? Why not - just make sure you stick a good tyre on it, if you're outside and inside consistently try and get hold of a Vittoria Crono as they're fine for both.

  • give to me for commuting pls

  • Double Discs for commuting or gtfo >>>

  • What is illegal about them (compared to Aus or Ger)?
Team Aus has a comparable relationship with BT, and Team Germany a similar relationship with FES. BT has a 'submit your query here' online form similar to UKSI with regard to purchasing said frames/parts, and the FES site has revoked access to the entire cycling section of its site (privacy in run-up to Rio, or maybe because I have a UK IP address?)
If GB bikes are illegal, then by association, Aus & Ger must be too.

  • No, because I know I can buy a BT. Not sure about FES, they might be bullshit cheat bikes too.

  • The team pursuit will also be on UKSI. Basically only they've only been using Cervelos for mass start stuff...

What they had here for filming last week would suggest this might not be correct.

  • Ha - actually last night Tim Ashton spent a while working out if it would be CTT legal or not. 42% open area including the hub according to his calcs :(

  • give to me for commuting pls

Trott was on a Cervelo T4 for the World Championships. I'm assuming BC cares about them, and I'd hardly describe the omnium as a mass start event.

  • Not all of the events - she was on a uksi for a few of them too.

Also - 50% of the events in the omnium are mass start? Scratch, devil, points. I mainly meant non-olympic events though

  • My coach recommended them but I can only seem to find cronos in 24mm.. are they faster than a evo pista cs or cl?

  • Media day init - keep sponsors happy. I would put money on them not riding cervelos. That is unless they've made some special frames with cervelo.

  • They have

    This.

And (aero) bars too I think. Not sure if they were Cervelo per se but designed around the Cervelo at least.

  • No, but you wouldn't want to risk blowing a CL outdoors during a flying 200 whereas a Crono would be fine. Look harder for the 22s as they do exist still, maybe eBay?

  • Ah, but are the Cronos as fast as the new Corsa Speed G+ tubs? That's the dilemma I'm currently facing. Cronos or Corsa Speed, that is the question.

  • Well Cronos look better
