• 1x something question here:
    On a double crank, you shouldn't cross the chain (big ring-big cog or small ring-small cog)
    But using the Same crank with one ring, shouldn't the angle of the chain on the big or small cog will be the same as on a double?
    Or the reason of the cross chain causing problem is mostly the front mech and the other ring?

  • That was an 8 speed (and earlier) thing, when chains weren't as flexible.

    Certainly with 10 & 11 it's not a problem (except the chain could still catch the "big dog", when using the smaller sprockets).
