• So I went ahead and got the Aftershokz Bluez 2S bone conduction headphones. I bought them for about £45 from Aliexpress rather than £90 from a UK stockist. They came in a box marked Bluez 2 (the cheaper model), but having looked at pics and compared the differences, they definitely are the 2S.

    They're really good. There's enough volume even when cycling and you can still hear what's going on around you. The sound quality isn't incredible, but it's surprisingly good considering it's using bone conduction to get the sound directly to the inner ear, leaving your earholes free to listen for traffic etc.

    All in all, I'd recommend them.
