when the evenings get longer we should sort a pizza picnic in mounts field park or something. even if you kept it level there's no way it'd still be good by the time you got it home.

Isn't it like a month from the longest day? What are you waiting for?
(In, but actually yeah, a bit busy atm... ) -
• #14534
Waiting for evenings where I'm not at work/working. Summer fun (for anyone) is not allowed to happen until I'm ready.
-
• #14535
I'll be ready in a month, how about you?
-
• #14536

Quote from insurance company is £2,438 for them.to come and assess if subsidence is causing the cracks.
That sounds very bloody expensive. Anyone know what a regular structural engineer would charge to come have a look?
I probably would only pay my excess but that is still £1,250 and if they then tell me it's nothing I'll be irritated to say the least.
Still need to check my house isn't falling down though.

I paid about £800 for a full structural survey and report a month or so ago, admittedly not in London, but it was a for a 4 bed farmhouse...
Used these guys, who have offices in Devon and London. http://www.structurehaus.com/home.html

So, Chancel repair liability. I don't have to take out cover for that, do I? My vendor hadn't...
-
• #14541
It's £20, for life.
Your liability could be hundreds of thousands. -
• #14542
Oh really? I was expecting a lot more. Easy decision.
-
• #14543
We didn't even do the chancel repair search, the solicitor said that insurance was cheaper than the search and we would need the insurance if the search came back positive so we just went for the cover.

Cheers - Have asked our Sols for a cover details and a quote.
Happen to know who provides your cover?Soo close to exchanging. We have been living with the in-laws for over 2 weeks now....with 2 young kids. Desperate to move.

No idea, sorry. It's in a big pile of contracts, indemnities and other house stuff being kept safe for when we one day sell.

Does anyone have a very rational hatred of tiles in a bathroom? What are my options?
I fucking love Franco Manca, especially since one opened a mere 10 mins walk from me, but I feel like if you extrapolate their growth, in 12 months they'll be more ubiquitous than Pizza Express.
