Those x-fusion sound good. Was considering some Slant for the bouncy bike.
I get the impression you get a lot of performance for your penny's.

Those x-fusion sound good
I've read mostly good things about them. As well as being a bargain, they fulfilled all my criteria.
Simple - Just rebound adjustment and lockout
Stiff - 34mm stanchions on a 100mm fork should work well for someone my size
51mm offset - To match the rigid fork's handling
I've no idea if the 'Kashima-like' stanchion coating is any good, but it looks pretty.

I will have to trim absolutely NOTHING off the steerer tube.

The guys behind x-fusion are ex Fox no? So the coating might be very comparable. I know it's a recommended upgrade on Fox forks.
The 34mm stanchions are a nice mid ground. Which is why I was considering them for my XC - AM compromise bike.
From what I read the sweetspot is kinda small. But once dialled it's a sweet riding fork. I did read convincing reviews from guys coming off both floats and revs.

Not sure really. I just fancied something a bit different to the usual Fox vs Rockshox. Marzocchi are ( sadly ) a bit of a risk these days and DT are an unknown to me.

I'm going DT.
Mainly because their 26" forks are on clearance. But they also have a big service life, and are pretty light. I really need to save weight somewhere. This is a fecking lumpy country.

Any pictures with the forks on??

Sorry, I hadn't planned to put them on until the Spring :-(
I expect that I'll get impatient though.

Still no bouncy fork, but some freshly rebuilt wheels, with wider Easton rims.

Looking good....what rims?

• #342
Do you even we can enhance that?
-
• #343
what rims?
Not sure if serious...

So, I've decided to fit a slightly larger rear hub.

Ha! Just seen this.....I wasn't even taking the piss!

holy shit

Singlespeed has been frustrating me recently. It suits a 10 year younger and 3 stone lighter version of me. Wanting to do some longer rides in hillier terrain has had me dreading attempting them on one gear.

I still like the idea of a drive system that requires bugger all maintenance though.

They do take a little while to bed it in...
Kool. Let us know how they go. :-)
