Looked at Passats and Octavias this morning - quite a bit cheaper to insure with decent sized engines, Passat not so bad looking either.

My old Mk1 VRS estate is still going strong, is quite fun to drive and has a massive boot :)

If you fancy something different to a Passat or Octavia, have you thought about a SEAT Exeo ST? Basically a B7 Audi A4, with the cabriolet dash and B8 engines. 140 or 170 diesel or the 2.0T from a golf gti.

Look at bigger boring cars driven by older people and not popular to be stolen. Or has that changed? I remeber that in 91 that my dads volvo (6month old 7 series estate) would have cost 200 more fully comp than my car third party.
