  • wow, what bartape on the pink and blue?

  • Just measured, and I'm currently safe by all measures :-)

3cm - I'm pretty marginal and it's hard to measure if someone is shifting about on the bike but I make it 3cm exactly when I'm static.

leading edge - I just checked and I've got more space than I thought on the proper TT bike. Approx 10cm behind the leading edge of the wheel.

Wheel spindle - I'm about 22ish cm (8.5 inches) ahead of the wheel axle.

All of those measurements are taken with the gear shifter in the 11t position... if I shift to the 25t position then that adds another 3cm to my reach!

To be honest I've not really been following the debate. The 3cm rule seems to do a poor job currently, but I've not been keeping up with the relative pros and cons of alternative suggestions. My position isn't even that stretched out, it's just that the slvlss part of me likes the saddle slammed forwards to help me run after.

  • these are lush.

@bankiren i need to come to this workshop some point soon.
might be comin Stockholm this summer maybe

  • I agree with you!
I am sure he is able to rectify

nice stuff Hacha needs wound up ; )

  • Dis you ever ride wound up ? the shiny handlebar doen't fit with the new black stem of the carrera, or you must find a black compact handlebar like nitto 10- to fit, and now the crankset denote a bit it is strange can you try with a vintage black pista crank ?

The forma moser sl 11v is BORN.

  • Got it finished, I persevered and in the end I was the victor over Mr. 12 ply.
Now I feel like a hero.
I think their entire R & D department is given over to naming things.

  • And you've got easy access to some sweet sounds too! Love the chainring in particular. Never heard of hero bikes, but you're in asia somewhere iirc?

  • Just picked it up. The paint is really badly beaten, but original and quite rare, not many of them left.

  • Tandem help needed:

Turns out the fork is threaded 1 1/8 which seems relatively unusual but makes sense for a tandem.

Question is, is it possible to get a 1 1/8 quill to a-head adaptor as they all seem to be 1 inch -> 1 1/8?

Like this, but not quite like this

  • Thanks! Just to confirm that will fit a threaded 1 1/8 fork? I can't quite work it out from the item description?

  • So odd, was removing omniums from one of these yesterday and noted the stays were pre-dimpled for clearance.

Maybe this was a super early one, or was this the era that TF bought frames undimpled then realised they didn't work and dented them up in house? @MechaMorgan

  • Very much doubt there would have been any in-house mods. Could have been a change between orders but I can't remember!

  • I think this would work, however I don' want to smash £90 on it:

I will pop in Condor and see if they can source a Deda 'teardrop' long ISP clamp.

  • The frame is dimpled, however it's dimpled at precisely the correct spot for a 48t chainring. I'm running 56t and so the larger radius of the chainring easily extended past the dimple.

  • This works wonderfully with chainstays not attached to the bike, much more problematic if the chainstays are attached to the BB, as the other chainstay will cause serious problems for getting a vice jaw behind. Not impossible, but dependent on the bike and some brain power. Also much trickier for chainstay clearance than tyre clearance on complete bikes, as you're that much closer to the narrower end of stays.

  • No, I'm not in Asia - my friend went back to the Punjab for a visit, picked this monster up and brought it back to Canada.
Hero is one of the biggest manufacturers in India.
    Just short of 50lbs.
    oof

  • Hope your pub is downhill from you then! And Canada is even further east than Asia innit.

  • The bike is his, I just put it together for him.
Ha, luckily no hills around here.
    Lots of wind, sadly.

  • That's awesome, would sit nicely next to my OSCA, similar levels of rattiness
