if you want a bit wider rim building them yourself is going to be cheaper. a lot of cheap ready-made sets are with aging 14mm inner width rims and the more hi-end builds with archetypes or tb14's go north of 250pounds I think. I'd guess around 200 pounds is somewhat doable if you find a good deal on archetypes, easily on adhn.
I have always liked archetypes so maybe it's worth spending a little more knowing they will last. Plus they're versatile enough to put thinner tyres on for road rides

wider rim supports the wider tire a lot better.
