  • Bike24 have some domed ones

  • For 22.2mm extensions in the next couple of hours, yes.

  • I wanted them from a shop but evans have none so guess they'll wait..

  • You mean the same diameter as the majority of all handlebars? Buy a cheap set of bar tape.

  • Are they? I've never know the ID of normal bars. All mine are 31.8 external and I've never had any cause to measure the ID.

In my mind there's no way normal bar plugs will fit the extensions...

  • They're 31.8mm at the bulge in the middle. Not at the ends.

  • 31.8mm at the clamp area, 22.2mm at the end of the drops.
I literally did just this to some Zipp extensions a couple of days ago.

  • oh well, maybe i could've got some plugs at evans. not sure road plugs would work though as they usually install with tape.

  • A pair of Fizik plugs worked fine for me. Don't you normally get Scherrit to build your bikes?

  • Yes, but in this case the bike was built, all I've done was add aerobars to it, swap some wheels, swap cages, add luggage. If Zipp weren't so busy building shitty hubs, they could've included some plugs with the bars the tight fucks.

  • Not very helpful but if you pop round to my shed there are probably at least 10 discarded plugs rolling around on the floor, or a few in packs of bar tape that have never made it that far...

I'm inn Mallorca so just let yourself in..

  • 31.8mm at the clamp area, 23.8mm at the end of the drops.

    ftfy

The flange on drop bar plugs is usually about 25mm

  • In my mind there's no way normal bar plugs will fit the extensions...

Some of them will fit in the bore of TT extensions, but the flanges will be too big.

  • pop round to my shed

If he was going to do that, he might as well call it at my parts bin. I have a really surprising number of them considering that I've only ever had one TT bike which needs them.

  • So, can I laugh at @Pifko now and call him an idiot or do I still have to try his butt bar plugs?

  • I don't want a flange that's too big.

  • back now - you sorted or you want me to dig some out and put them in the post?

just ordered my tripsuit, amazing response by them so far, hopefuly have it here by the weekend for the Farnham 10 on Saturday and HWCC 25 on Sunday - did I see @ewanmac name on the startsheet?

yet another early start for me, surely if its random after the seeding I must at some point get a later start in a morning event?

  • I think I'll get some of the domed ones but thanks for the offer.

  • did I see @ewanmac name on the start sheet?

Oh, hai! Yup I'm down for the HWCC25 on Sunday but haven't seen the start sheet yet. Did 1:00:08 on the H25/17 this Sunday and have a PB of 1:00:00 so I'm hoping that the H25/2 will buy me a few seconds.

Training has been incredibly haphazard recently so really struggling with my power, but have made some aero improvements to balance out my losses.

  • It's on ttf, and on the CTT website although not emailed yet I'm number 26 and you are 103 so you'll be on your way to the start line as I crawl back up the slip road after I finish!

Hopefully the weather forecast is wrong, but at least it's warmer than the 2 degrees I had a few weeks ago when I did a mid 55 on the same course, hopefully "knowing" the course will be worth a few extra seconds as well so I can do a sub 55!

  • Wrap the extensions and you won't notice.

  • It's my first time there. I've looked at the profile of the course, and obviously there is the big descent at the beginning, but what is the rest of the course like? Any hints and tips?

I'm also on the verge of ordering one of the Nopinz tripsuits... But does anyone know what the quality (i.e. durability) is like? I know the Castelli suits have a reputation for falling apart and I don't want to spend £250 on a suit and then poke my fingers through it as soon as I try to climb into it.

  • It'll last longer than a Castelli suit. And NoPinz are brilliant with support if you do have any issues.

H25/2 - save some gas for the middle 15 miles.

  • umadbro?

I need both ends plugged, front to stop skewering wildlife and back to save my knees.

I might run a single di2 shifter - any ideas for something similar length to fill the other? I guess I could just wire up a second Di2, it's not like there's any point me counting grams..
