I'm going to be bold and say that an M3 provides more "Smiles Per Gallon" than almost any other car.

the rain thing is moot. it we are talking about fun cars, i'd trade getting wet once or twice (snigger) for the sheer joy of smashing a little revvy droptop around a british country lane. unbeatable.

Looked at Passats and Octavias this morning - quite a bit cheaper to insure with decent sized engines, Passat not so bad looking either.

My old Mk1 VRS estate is still going strong, is quite fun to drive and has a massive boot :)
