Thing is - insurance is so high as a new driver (looking at £1kish) that there is probably only £150 difference between something a bit dull (golf etc) and something a bit more fun.

Look at bigger boring cars driven by older people and not popular to be stolen. Or has that changed? I remeber that in 91 that my dads volvo (6month old 7 series estate) would have cost 200 more fully comp than my car third party.

MG montego and my insurance dropped!

Looked at Passats and Octavias this morning - quite a bit cheaper to insure with decent sized engines, Passat not so bad looking either.
