No way it's 48,000km from Alaska to Argentina unless they are planning on getting very very lost. The circumference of the globe is 40,000

The circumference is a straight line, whether the route they're taking isn't.

Your house is 10km away, but it really 14km because of the route.

Still, wikipedia lists it as a network of roads covering 30.000 km or 19.000 miles.
Their route could obviously be longer with detours, but the pan am highway is not that long.

I think the kaffenback is amazing
