  • Despite this being a super old thread, can anyone soothe me?

Heading back to the homelands tonight and decided to take my bike with me, as I really want to cycle around home a little bit. Gonna head to Perton from Wolves station and thinking about tackling the Holloway. Looking at stats, it seems comparable to Blackheath Hill, but can anyone confirm?! 46x17 which is great for the slow build up but that last little push will be killer.

    Are you a Wulfrunian, @skydancer?

  • It's not a long climb, but The Holloway does ramp up quite significantly in the last few metres. I'd imagine it's probably do-able on 46x17 depending on fitness, but it's going to be more like weight training than cycling. There's no footpath on the left hand side if you bail.
Other options (all hills, Perton is on Plateux) - The Rock and Tinacre Hill, both more gradual. Wightwick Bank, steeper than Rock/Tinacre but not as steep as The Holloway.
