• Hi All, I recently built up this late 80's Raleigh racer, it's a large Raleigh Mercury frame (62cm seat tube c-c, 58cm top tube c-c) teamed up with an early 90's Shimano Exage Sport 12 speed groupset.

The frame is made from basic carbon steel tubing, but it's got internal cable routing and is perfect with no dents or rust etc, and the rad fluoro pink paint job is also in excellent condition. I think the gun metal colour groupset looks really tidy alongside this colourscheme and is also in perfect working order and good clean condition.

The groupset is all Shimano Exage Sport, including the aero brake levers, callipers, front and rear mechs, chainset, pedals with cages and hubs. The tyres are 23c Conti Ultra Sport and the wheels are Belgian made Alessa box section rims with minimal wear to the braking surfaces, plus they have eyelets, so can be laced up nice and tight.

Other than that the saddle is a modern Charge Bucket, with a long 40cm Uno alloy post, while the headset and stem are Japanese, Tange Seiki and Sakae respectively. The stem is 100mm and the handlebars are 38cm wide and are the original Raleigh made drops.

Since taking these pictures I've replaced the Biopace chainrings with standard Shimano rings and also fitted a new Shimano HG-40 chain. Furthermore if you'd prefer a different cockpit I can switch out the drops for risers and cross top style levers, and can change the toe cages for flat pedals with horizontal straps.

The bike's based in London E14 and I'm now asking £150 £145 collected, or happy to ship at cost, please PM if interested, thanks.
