I found myself in the same situation some months ago and so I did -

If you're rebuilding onto a used hub 'they' say you're supposed to lace the same way it was before.
Perhaps if the hub is not really deeply marked by the previous spokes, this may not be of concern to you.

but its a solid hub
is this ok to do, trying to build my first set of wheels up here and after measuring my spoke length I only have long enough spokes for a 2 cross pattern
