  • Don't get a diesel though.... based on exactly one experience (and indirect at that) then you will get intermittent issues with injectors and fixing it costs way more than the car is worth.
That and they are plastic and tacky. Surely a Vauxhall Insignia would be a better drive?

I know you mentioned no French but a late model Citroen c5 would make an excellent motorway cruiser.

  • Plastic and tacky rules it out in any case.

I'm mainly interested in whether there is a significant difference in the likelihood of telephone number bills from a clean E350 or a similar age 3L petrol 5 series. An A6 could be another option. If the chances are roughly the same, I just need to decide if it is worth it, or I should just get a 2 year old Mondeo.

  • Oooh - looks absolutely lovely! Tempted!

  • By the sounds of it you want reliable wafting down the motorway.

Observation suggests that an e class merc can take a beating (minicabs etc) as you don't see many BMW hire cars.

My brother in-law has an A6 estate. Bought second hand, I think 2013 model. He covers plenty of miles and has had no issues. Think it's a TDI. Bit harsh though.

  • for 350 /3L

    drive an e class 211, then a 212, then 212 facelift

    then drive a cls 219, then a 218, and then a 218 facelift

  • Have a look at one, I'd say the big petrol is a hoot.

  • As a fan of the C5 it doesn't really have a large petrol engine.

Early, pre 2012 have merc electrics, as they were developed with mercedes

  • Has it had the audi tdi issues?

  • That chrysler interior is very average.

In regards to the audi tdi. Not sure. I know it's been in for two factory recall fixes which were done without issue.

  • Got to stand up to lots of miles...and it does.

  • Got to stand up to lots of miles...and it does.

  • That chrysler interior is very average.

Would you say it is more average than most?

  • vw/audi tdi oil pump issues, tensioner and usual diesel injectors.

  • Just painted motorbike plastics in that exact blue

  • Ha, correct. That interior is average. Nothing more, nor less.

  • The Chrysler 300c looks like a Rolls Royce built by one of those guys who convert MR2s in to F355s

  • This is the most accurate description of a 300c there is.

  • Ultimate scaffolder / DJ run about.

  • Have you seen the bently grill conversion?

It has the 300 merc chasis and other bits and built as an homage to the 60's Chrysler 300. When it came to release in the UK Chrysler took over the goodwood revival. If they but the 5.7 hemi in the estate now that would make it more fun. It is a cheap big estate. The European ones were built in Austria by steyr.

  • Am I still on ignore?

Oh well, think more p100 lightning and others.

  • Volvo v70 t5 sub 100k chipped and exhaust to 320bhp. Needs set of tyres and maybe rims...what would it be worth?

  • Unless I'm missing something a t5 needs a bit more than a chip and exhaust to make over 300
Rica 305 chip doesn't mean 305bhp, think it's just the part number
They love it though, the later 2.5 block tends to split it's liners even under stock power. Older 2.3 with the right rod combo are the deal.

  • Drove a 2007 v70r (only about 10 left on UK road with current ved), so damn comfy, quick enough, handle well, defo not an m5 but I think ride and daily use nicer than an equivalent s6/rs6. The seats are made of some really fantastic leather, anyone know the supplier/spec of it?

  • No idea, have been told there is a dyno readout showing that think it is a rica tuned car. The engine is the 2.4, has been sat for a while (3 years) in dry storage, with the pads pushed back, wd40 discs and engine, gearbox and rear filled with storage oil. Also the car was left on axle stands.
