  • If you didn't give a shit ten years ago, Dont pretend you give a shit now.Bandwagon jumping.

    vegan for 15 years

Just so we're clear - what's the exact cut off for a real vegan rather than a bandwagon jumper? 11, 12, 13 or 14 years?

What should those who have been vegan less than 10 years have to do? Be forced to eat meat again?

I'd also be interested to know whether your view that people can't ever change their mind extends to all things. Politics? Haircuts? Aerospokes?

Think about it dude. You're being silly.

Everyone who is a vegan has made a positive choice, it doesn't matter when they made it or why, the planet is better off because they did and that's what's important.

You're actually the one being hipster about it, not the newbie vegans - 'I was a vegan before it was cool' is basically what you're saying...

Actually, reading your posts again I think you might be taking the piss? Are you taking the piss?

  • vegan before it was cool

    classic /thread #onpoint #topical

  • them kinda hipster that try an go all out wild riding in underwear, must eat roadkill shirly,
    faux ray mears shit

  • Linda McCartney Sausages, new recipe: less good, more pink.

Why the fuck does a veggie sausage need to be pink?

  • For lady vegetarians, obvs.

  • @Aroogah got a part time job?

  • I've only been vegan 6 years. Does this mean I'm a poser? I just want to be clear. I'd hate to seem uncool.

  • This whole argument depends on whether one views 'veganism' as a lifestyle choice, a way of life or as a way of defining oneself - or any combination of the above. Each is as valid as the next in my opinion and timescale is irrelevant. The bottom line is the same.

    {I am a lifelong meat eater}

  • cos they'd look like poo sauasages otherwise?

  • pony bangers

  • Some interesting responses which I partially agree with. The timespan is not as important as not shoving your views in every persons face as soon as it's possible. You could have become vegan a year ago or ten years ago but if the person who became vegan ten years ago is snobbish about it, enforcing and critical of others who don't share his or her personal choice, then that person can shuv off. At the end of the day I truly believe it's a personal choice that someone makes and the incessant need to make ones life revolve around it, look down on others, or for it to define that person is an utterly revolving characteristic.

  • Are you not looking down upon those who look down upon others?

  • Touché!

  • I am soo going to drop your fuckken dim sum before I knock on your door. Mr. No-Tip.

  • It actually is like raaaa-eeee-aaaaaiiin.

  • I wonder if Katie Hopkins will get a veggie sausage for her regents street streaking session :)

  • If she doesn't you know people will protest and probably throw animal blood at her or something

Personally I think she should use "the black farmer" sausages :)

  • We have a wee guy now who's going to be raised vegetarian (vegan probably) and then be allowed to decide for himself.

By the time he's old enough to decide for himself, will his body allow him to make the choice or is the whole start off vegan and your body will lose the ability to process meat thing a myth?

  • I think it probably just takes a while to adjust to a change in diet.

  • is the whole start off vegan and your body will lose the ability to process meat thing a myth?

Probably given that all children start off vegetarian (and possibly vegan if they're breastfed exclusively). They're going to be about a year old before they eat any meat.

  • just explain how breastfeeding is vegan..?

  • just explain how breastfeeding is vegan..?

Why do you think it isn't?

  • This is very true
