First slightly longer outing yesterday, 30 km. It really is horrific how bad I am at pedalling fast. Souplesse and all that glaringly absent. My arse looks like it's stuck on a 110V sex toy on holiday in Europe.
Levers ought to be lowered slightly but a bit late for that now. May or may not lose the 5 mm headset spacer.

Your bike looks lovely tho :) is that ss or fixed?
Edit: just noticed front break only, fixed I guess -

Thanks. Yup, fixed. I might very well switch to ss later, but will try to live with this newfangled fixed gear bizniz for one season at least.

Absolutely. Got rid of an armchair, a table and the TV. She approved & smiles all around!
I've withheld the fact that a friend of mine is bringing me another bike from the states tomorrow. We'll see how that plays out... -

Thanks but that is in clear violation of the ''never sell any frame / bike'' rule.
We're pretty strict about that one. -

@vince that Condor is nuts. If you do want some risers, I have these going spare that may suit:

Ed has coaxed me into trying 650b. And i wanted a cheap do it all, throw-around, bike-camp bike. Found this frame new on ebay for £100. It's a proper german style touring frame with plenty of mounts and huge clearances. Apparently designed for use with either 26" or 700c, so 650b should work well. Bought some heavy duty Shimano wheels. Already had the forks. Going either flared drops with Shimano 5800 (already got the brifters) and mechanical disc brakes. Or flat/swept back bars with some Shimano MTB thumb shifters and hydraulic brakes, like Deore. Will probably fit Gravel King 27.5 1.7" and fenders, or some knobbly MTB tyres.
And then a front rack ofc.
Will try to keep the costs to a minimum.

Post full pics and go straight to HHSRB!

That's the plan. Need to glue up a wheelset first and get the drivetrain situated.

Will a 120mm hub gear work on a track frame?
Don't worry I'm not going to kill any puppy's, it's an option I'm considering for a Dolan FXE, for if I go on a mountainous tour somewhere. Like Norway.

Looks great. That's the sort of set up I'd like for a rear rack. Which rack is that?
-
• #107925
Should work fine.
What will you be doing for braking?
Careful about using coaster brakes on track frames, the stay isn't really designed for the stresses that the arm would put on it.
if you could get 2 wheels on the rack and a beater wheel so you don't wear down your tubs that would be amazing!
