I had all silver on my sparkly silver njs, but wound up swapping the wheels out to charcoal open pros with disco hubs just to break it up a bit

in the end, it's your bike, so your choice is all that matters

Or a blue Concor. It will darken with use.
Then do white grips/tape.
White always gets dirty. Much easier spending $10-20 to freshen up your rig with new bright white grips as they get grungy.

Oh, for the ridiculous story of the day.
Took the Samson out for the first longer ride (35mi-ish). It's a long paved trail with tons of bicycle traffic. A couple of areas are very upscale.
While at a park/water stop, a guy started berating me at the bike racks about the condition of my "beautiful frame" and trying to convince me it needed a fresh paint job. "I wax/polish my Masi after every ride. How you can let such a nice bike get like that..." I went inside that bathrooms and soon as I exited, he continued his vocal disgust as if not missing a beat.
(I'm 100% dead serious).Really wish I had some clever reply but I was tired/not in the mood.
Yeah, I know cool story, bro. -

Gutted that he didn't appreciate the rat you so were so keen to show off!
Did you tell him it was pre-ratted by a MASH rider?

How does one build a full bike like that under a hundred quids?
-
• #13917
Buys a £100 frame and doesn't count cost of all the other parts they had at home as "they had been left over free from other builds".

Ah yeah, I could have thought of that. :P

do people still care about that shit?
Yeah, I was a bit high strung last night. Long week.
I think the silver finishing parts look good but I like the contrast between black/silver. When it's all silver or all black, it just seems to blend all together. Different strokes for different folks.
Almost all of the parts on the bike were sourced from old builds or what I could find cheaply used. The Deep V's were off my first bike and were originally bright green. lol
