And front end, the paint is still drying and it still need polishing, once I finish building it up, I'll take it back to Matt where he'll finish off the polishing and taking photos as he work very hard on it.

Those cranks are very nice. 30t as smallest chainring is perfect.

Get the SMP recovered?

• #1406
It will still be ugly

SMP saddles, so fucking ugly they need to be in recovery...

Worth doing but my SMP on the Elephant is now logo-less due to wear, so I dont think I need to recover it.

Busyman does an excellent job, they do look a world better

that actually looks class! do they do any synthetic leather colours? I assume they would as it's mainly custom right?
-
• #1411
Both of those are custom refinished saddle from busyman leather

It's a lots of money too.
Fitted saddle onto the bike, look O.K. reckon it'll be fine once it's all build up properly, better to spend a multi-day audax in 100% pain-free and comfort than to grudgingly trying not to be uncomfortable on a leather saddle after several hours.

Stop teasing Ed - lets see it

I agree. How bad can it be
-
• #1422
Lack of mudguard is the reason why, it look pretty bad without it.

Honjo???
-
• #1424
Velo Orange 52mm fluted if I can squeeze it, if not, good old fashion and reliable Gilles Berthoud in 50mm, they even survived Brixton Cycles' handling of my bike despite a dented top tube.

Sound! I did eyeball the fluted ones before I went snakeskin on mine.
I do like Berthouds too, but since fitting the VO on the 650b, but much prefer the VO fitting hardware to the GB.
Honjos would be nice, but I do struggle to justify the $$$
It will take a while, maybe a couple of weeks to get everything fitted and dialed in, especially with the mudguard, the brake cable going through the stem, fitting and setting up the Compass brakes, tidying up the wiring etc.
The only problem that compound the build is the SMP saddle looking awkward instead of the leather saddle.
