Yeah I read that, but I guess the off putting thing is pretty much the weight of these wheels, granted they're 40mm deep but their the old fashion 21mm wide rims is a little off putting.
Do you think with the arc 31mm will make it better in regards to strengthening of the spoke?

Which rims are these? The 3T accelero's are 23 wide. As to their weight, I never noticed. Certainly didn't feel slow. I found them very good at speed and excellent handling too.
I think the deal with those superstar wheels is if you get a set that's been built well then it's fine. But their quality is variable. Keep the box and use their free truing service. Simples.

I'd be tempted to spend a little more and get something a bit lighter

Check out this review of the 3t from CRC:
'i have had those wheels for 2 years and the spokes kept breaking after 1 year of trainning. i have NEVER come across such a thing before in my 25 years of cycling. i am no heavy guy, 78kg for 1.89cm in height is no heavy. i had no support/warranty from 3T whatsoever. i had to change all the spokes and nipples just to sell them. i do about 500km a week so i dont want to imagine what would have happened with the hubs. they look stunning at first and roll great, but you can get campy scirocco 35 or fulcrum racing quatro for 100euros cheaper , and much better wheels. my advice - stay away guys'
He's surprised he's breaking spokes after doing 25k km in a year!!
