don't trust the bedwetters ^^, stripping carbon forks is no problem. Just book a day off and bring your best sanding game.
p.s. glad your bike's alright and you're not too buss up
You don't need to strip the carbon if you're going to paint it anyway. Just key the existing paint/laquor thoroughly and you don't need primer. In my experience.
