^^ #camprunning ??
No results here, just the Sunday morning run out along the river path. Was tempted to run again yesterday evening but easing back this week so stuck to plan.

No results, but 3x2hr runs over the weekend and my body is holding together. Calling that a win anyway.

Usual 10k training run, a tiny bit slower but HR way down on normal which is nice.
Reading 80/20[1] at the moment so happy with running slower than I want, although not sure quite how relevant and useful 80/20 is for someone at my shit level. Right now I just need to focus on getting rid of 10kg.
LM ballot entered.
- Just how many times can you see the number 80 on each and every bloody page. Did I mention the 80/20 split recently, or the fact that elite runners then to do 80% of their running at low intensity and 20% at medium or high intensity? The book doesn't need to be more than 30 pages if that (and without the training plans) but has been fluffed out to be book sized.

Do all your training at 110% minimum.
Run 10km races at your 5km pace.
Profit.

training
Training? Pffft.
Race cold. Race hard. Race long.
Your 80/20 plan should be 80 fast, 20% even faster, and then another 20% faster than that.

Thanks for the reminder, ballot entered!
Attempting to resume normal running schedule this week, starting with an easy 5k this lunch time. Hopefully the legs don't protest too much!

How do I stop this happening?

Pork scratchings?

1/2 a size bigger shoe, or lace the existing ones differently to help stop your toe stubbing?
Cut your nails more often?
Run barefoot?

Bigger shoe, shorter toes/toenails
What I didn't do, back when I had 2 big toenails
-
• #13416
More specifically, shoes with more room in the toe box. And fire
-
• #13417
My left foot is slightly larger/longer. This doesn't happen with other shoes though- I wonder if this is because I have speed laces on these shoes (strong elastic with a gripper thingie) rather than proper laces?

That toe's not too important for balance, you can afford to lose it.

Also, have applied for this:

Fear it may be a bit of a wanky hipster pop-up type thing, but it's a different idea.

a different idea
Different. Like every other startup event. Except with a built in excuse (sorry, "feature"), for being a fucking shambles.

Yeah, but they're only promising a couple of aid stations, so won't be expecting much. Being vegan, you get used to looking after yourself anyway.

I like the idea in principle... couldn't find cost tho. Is it mega £££'s or surprisingly cheapz?

They're not telling yet - you just register, then they'll tell you if you're in/how much/when/where (probably at different times between now and autumn). They're making a play of not having ballots, but they're doing manual selection, I think, which makes it that little bit more personal if you're rejected.
I'll wait to hear if it's going to be low-key and fun. But if it sounds like a running version of Secret Cinema, ah'm oot.

On the basis of if I have to ask I can't afford then I'm tuning out for sure.
I've got a pretty much entirely off road MCR route that is Marathon distance (and also TOP SECRET) if anyone fancies a self supported run on it around end Aug / early Sept.
@Pifko - I did a half marathon 11 years ago. Nothing since. Am 44 and overweight, so pleased. And (a) drunk.
Planning another one!
