Oh and also I just realized there's user15649's Uploading Pictures thread which I guess could be merged with this one.

@Velocio: Can you explain the square brackets in the image tags?
![]()
At first I thought it was to hotlink the image to an url, but that doesn't work:
![link url](image url)
Now I just use the link tag and instead of the link 'name' (between the square brackets), I put the image:
[![](image url)](link url)
E.g.:
Excuse me if this is explained somewhere, couldn't find it so quickly.

https://daringfireball.net/projects/markdown/syntax#link
Hyperlinks go in (), and to indicate where the text to be hyperlinked starts and ends [] is used.
Hence a link is:
[the text to link](https://example.org/)
https://daringfireball.net/projects/markdown/syntax#img
Images are still links and go in () and you may still have some text for the image tag which can go in [], and to say it should be an image start with a !
![colnago](http://www.pedalroom.com/p/el-reys-colnago-tecnos2000-7204_13.jpg)
Then if you want it without the hover text:
![](http://www.pedalroom.com/p/el-reys-colnago-tecnos2000-7204_13.jpg)
And finally combining the two.
A link
[](http://destination)
and an image![](http://image)
would be[![](http://image)](http://destination)
because the link wraps the image.[![](http://www.pedalroom.com/p/el-reys-colnago-tecnos2000-7204_13.jpg)](http://www.pedalroom.com/bike/el-reys-colnago-tecnos2000-7204)

Or you could just click the image button... paste the URL.
Then highlight the stuff that was inserted and click the link button... paste the URL.
And you're done.

Yeah, that's what I've been doing.
By the way, hovering the first image does nothing for me (Win7, FireFox 46.0.1).
One last question: how do you do the [ ] ( ) without 'executing' it?
(test)[123]
Hmm. < p> < /p> works, but not quite the same. Thanks for the info!

@Velocio - if you have the time please update this threads' first post so one can link to it -
every now and then there's still people having trouble posting images..
Cheers.
