Don't have the pleasure of a cycling commute,
(work from home),
but,
yesterday had a small cheque to pay in, and the closest branch of my bank
is a 17 mile round trip, which exceeds a nominal lunchhour by only a little.
Return leg approaching a traffic light controlled left turn,
woman in a small Honda turns left against me,
she never got far enough ahead of me to turn across me.
Front wheel leaves glancing dent on her passenger side door,
I'm braking, but as she now steers away from me, I go down,
but front of right shoulder destroys mechanical mount of wing mirror,
leaving it dangling on electrical cables,
allowing me not to fall onto the road.
Traffic held up as I take photos.
Driver claims she was indicating, which is irrelevant as until she turned against me she was never in front of me. She cannot confirm her insurance details,
and begins to phone her husband.
No visible damage to the bike,
(shower later that evening reveals my wounds are:
graze on shoulder, lower front of tricep, and on outer lower leg below the calf muscle).
