  • That's happened to a friend of mine too - she was less than impressed..but still made the purchase.

The guy I've spoken to in Spitalfields couldn't have been more helpful and friendly (Stuart, I think).

  • Yeah I'd complain. Staff in the Amsterdam branch when I was in there last month couldn't of been more helpful (and I'm no 'adonis' either)

  • Because, Dutch.

  • I once caught a tram and didn't have to pay because "Hey, it's too earlish"

  • Soho store can be very hit and miss- sometimes they are completely rude and you feel like shitting in the grey van just to give them something else to look miserable about!

Spitalfields staff have (in my experience) always been brilliant. Chatty, attentive and knowledgable.
Was there this afternoon and came out very satisfied (and £100 lighter of pocket)

  • Bit late on the reply but muxu do a great pair of cycling jeans. Bit stretchy, no crotch seem.

  • Just got my jacket repair back from rapha
Very pleased & all for free ..... Nice work rapha

    • 1 for the Muxu jeans rep. Super pair of keks.
  • Got to say the tall Asian guy in the Soho store has always been great with me. The shorter lady with short hair who works there is downright rude though, everything feels like she is doing you a favour. Her boyfriend/husband who is always there/works there too is a bit of a douche too.

  • Getting ripped by the orgazoid, I feel I've achieved something today

  • I've always found Spitalfields very friendly, but then I've never gone in asking for 5XL clothes, so have no idea how they'd react if I did.

  • shock horror - low paid shop staff aren't inspired by their work.

We don't live in the US, since when have we expected people earning only a smidge over minimum wage to completely divest their dignity. You're paying for the clothes, not for someone to call you 'mate' & massage your ego.

I do find presumably wealthy Rapha shoppers coming online and publicly naming and shaming people who they felt dissrespected them when they came in to buy a bidon and a pair of socks, particularly unpleasant.

    rant over.

  • 5XL? I went in and asked for size 36 which I felt was quite reasonable considering I was quite comfortably wearing size 34 at the time and had read reviews that the cotton trousers are quite loose at the waist.

  • FWIW I've never had a bad Rapha store experience and I do all my serious Rapha dollar drop online.

  • I do find presumably wealthy Rapha shoppers coming online and publicly naming and shaming people who they felt dissrespected them when they came in to buy a bidon and a pair of socks, particularly unpleasant.

I'm anything but wealthy and I came to discuss my experience of Rapha in a thread about Rapha. I wasn't looking for anyone to stroke my ego but neither do I expect people to laugh in my face.

  • I'm sorry if he's a friend of yours or whatever but he was plain rude and I will reiterate that as I please.

  • Fair enough. Maybe you caught someone on a bad day, we all have em.

  • Exactly. Manners are free and require little effort. If you're rude you probably shouldn't be in a customer facing role.

    Fatties have feelings too.

    #fattieshavefeelings ?

  • I don't know anyone who works there, but like most people I've done poorly paid customer services work before and have little sympathy for people who are on the nicer end of the stick.

And to @Itisaboutthebike point - 'Manners are free and require little effort. If you're rude you probably shouldn't be in a customer facing role.' Not everyone gets the luxury of choosing any job they like, and frankly why should manners ie. obsequiousness come free when you're making someone elses money..??

  • Last time i went in and asked to try on a bidon they looked at me like they'd just stepped in me.

  • So have I and would have never dreamt of demeaning a customer as I was on Sunday. Anyway, I'm over it and have something that fulfils my requirements now so will leave it at that. Tibbs out.

  • Are they as nonchalant as the Footpatrol staff used to be, even when you'd been queuing in the cold for 15 fucking hours?

"Oh, you want these shoes do you?"

Sorry for your shit Rapha experience.

  • See what you've done now ^^^, some poor sod is going to get taken out the back and shot later today...

  • 24 Kilates and Solebox always used to hand out sandwiches and beer in the queue. Never waited outside Footpatrol.
