Use a cone and slot the post rather than using a wedge. You want to copy Cinelli, not Kalloy :-)

Much appreciated! I know converting the seat tube to a traditional clamp is easier, just doesn't seem like cricket on these frames.

Would be interested in this endeavour. I presume this was your starting point.

not quite sure how this is used though;

The binder fastener is accessed underneath the opening in the seat-tube
