I'd say keep the Pig headset for a lesser frame and get a nice Cane Creek 40

The pig is just a stop-gap for a year or so. When I upgrade to alfine I'll also upgrade a load of other stuff, a CK headset being one of those upgrades.

They were kind of rude, so...

• #55
Yeah I know. They were well shit but still a shame to see a bike that stocks IF, Moots, Pegoretti etc close down.

Any recommendations for a front rack? Butcher's bike kind of thing

Heard good things about that Soma rack. Definitely nice you can mount panniers to it. Velo Orange's Porteur rack is also pretty nice, run one on my Raleigh.

Cheers, quite a few I fancy on velovivality after finding the Soma ones there. Cheers

I'm so tempted to buy myself a wolverine also. It'd have to replace my cross check... Probably. :)

Frame arrived today along with most of the components and wheels. Shame I'm not there to build it up!

Cheers. Should hopefully have something rideable by next weekend, fingers crossed

The graphics on those chainrings are grim. I had the same problem but turned the ring backwards and used longer bolts. It seems OK.
Lovely frame by the way

Got a rolling chassis of sorts. The chainring/crank combo is giving me a chainline of 51mm. If I mount the chainring to the inner ring mounting of the cranks its 41mm but too tight to the chainstay. what are the options for correcting this with an old school bb?
And given I'm a total newcomer to discs, how easy is it to shorten hoses? I'm assuming it's a massive ball ache best taken care of by a professional.

Nice Rhubarb #londonfixedgearandgardeningforum
Also with hydraulics, anything that isn't shimano is best to take to LBS as it may need bleeding -

- You forgot the barb
- You can't refit the old olive as they're made to compress into the lever housing.

Yeah I realised that most of what I had written was wrong haha,
Also these are Clarks brakes
Hence my edit -

Ah, my bad, didn't mean to come off as hostile.
This guide makes it pretty breezy. If you bought the brakes new, should have spare barb and olive in each pack.
Edit: Shit, right you are, I'm totally wrong The look suspiciously like the shimano m355. Down to the bleed port bolt.
Not really my kind of thing. Thanks though. LBS has a huge bin of stems, bars and saddles for a tenner so I'll swing by there later
