  • Good way of putting it, but that's what the show has been for at least a couple of seasons.

  • still 1000% better than the snoozefest that was the last few series of walking dead. they seem to have finally picked up on that though and pulled their finger out a bit.

  • Supervet and 24 hours in Polis custard last night, both insanely brilliant viewing

  • As I understand it, the books are pretty much the same - people doing things as a substitute for an actual story.

  • That's the problem with having so many characters. The books have even more characters and he ended up splitting the last book in two (characters divided by region/plot lines) just so it was a bit more manageable to write/read.

The TV series' have a pretty clear pattern now - 3 episodes where we just catch up with characters, 2 episodes where not much happens (lots of talking, probably some unnecessary boobs), 2 episodes where something really big actually happens, 1 episode spent dealing with what happened, 2 episodes to set up the next series.

  • GoT & TWD are amazing tv shows.

i say this as someone who grew up with murder she wrote, dynasty and jake & the fat man.

  • Yeah, typical pile of crap dope made and sold for the yokels so that they can go to sleep sedated with something to dream about, before another of their days starts.

  • How good is that supervet, its quite amazing how he fixes animals! I like how he DIY's things to help with recovery.

  • As I understand it, the books are pretty much the same - people doing things as a substitute for an actual story

This kind of ridiculous snobbery won't stop my pets from watching.

  • I think the books have a point, he's just taking a really long time to make it.

  • Silicon Valley season 3, Flowers on Channel 4

  • Flowers was amazing

  • Kim Wexler is hot too

And has eyes that can see into the very core of you.

    Possible Spoilers ahead

Anyone see the last episode? The Chicken Man cometh, I think.

  • I can't find anything that keeps my attention for a whole series lately. I think I'll go back to some classics for a while. I'm thinking Oz, and Homicide: Life on the Street.
    Any more suggestions?

  • Due South.

  • @greenhell would probably suggest The Wire, Sopranos or Breaking Bad

Have you watched all of Yes Minister and Yes Prime Minister?

  • I'd forgotten about Due South.
The Wire is brilliant, but I may have already seen it too many times. I hated The Sopranos and I managed about ten minutes of Breaking Bad.
I'm on season 2 of Yes Prime Minister, but I'm giving myself a break from it. There is only so much beige wallpaper I can watch in one sitting.
Northern Exposure to go with Due South though.

  • Have you watched the corner?

  • Quantum leap.

  • Been rewatching northern exposure lately. Doesn't suit binge watching, but still charming.

    Also rewatching Seinfeld.

  • If, like all sensible people, you were fond of Maggie, you probably don't want to Google the actress and she what she has become.

  • You're evil.

  • Yes, and I have the book somewhere.

  • Further proof that people off the telly are crazy.
