Oh yeah... Them too. (It was a spares cupboard build essentially).

Needs matching seatpost, not a Hoy one, also gum walls and ditch the rim stickers.
basically this again:

Decided I didn't like the raw Ti rails on my non-carbon Romin, so fixed it with spray paint. Done a good job if I say so myself.

Never go back...
Though almost all those changes are being made. Except the seatpost- they are really good seatposts. -

Little project for my brother as he will be doing London to Brighton in a few weeks time so going to try to modify this a little gem to help get up Turner and Ditchling and have a comfortable couple of hours on the road.
I won this back on ebay as we have always loved a madone and at the price we got it at we couldn't say no.
So the idea to bring this little gem into life and today's specification is to just change the following:
- Saddle
- Handlebar tape (maybe narrow handlebars)
- Wheels and tyres (most likely from superstar components)
- Saddle

You have a brother?

That's going to scratch off instantly.

They have this thing where they send you free decals if you ask nicely and send them a self addressed stamped envelope (see FAQ on their webpage). As I'm not in the US they just came back to me saying tough luck and try your local dealer/import agent. In the end I got an acquaintance in the US to send them a stamped envelope with my address on it as they said that'd be ok. So a bit complicated! They haven't turned up yet so not even sure it worked, but the guy (Matt Reeve) at customer care said he'd "take care of me" which I hope means he'll post some decals and not do anything nasty to me.

Indeed, plus this is a 56cm bike, it would never fit me! ;)

That's my thinking already, though I will have to probably get it near the end of the month, do you know their delivery waiting time?
-
• #107789
Sorry, no.

• #107790
At least get rid of the coloured paint

• #107791
I like it. A bit like a gelato version of the ecobeard british rail bike.

• #107792
And the gum walls look a bit like gone off toffee ice cream on that bike.

Which reminds me. Staple of my youth. Where can you get these again in London?
-
• #107794
Tofiffee ! ! ! they sell them at £1 shops and in some Tesco stores...

babes, I'm not an amateur 💅🏻
It's 4 layers of ourdoorsy rustoleum and couple layers of matte varnish. You could probably scratch it off with a pen knife, but the definition on my thighs isn't that sharp (yet).

I was meaning from the saddle clamp not your metallic thighs. Although they may pose a problem too.

I'm going to rely on some assembly paste and the renown gentle clamping of Thomson posts to hope it doesn't. I know exactly where it needs to do, so won't have to fiddle with it much.
It looks so much better, really happy with how it's turned out. Much more satisfying that stripping this fucking frame.

Yeah it does look better, I covered the white bits on the previous one I had with electrical tape.
