Having achieved my running goal for the year (London Marathon) and breaking pretty much every PB on the way (I think only my 1k PB still stands, possibly because I just never tried to break it) I now find myself 4 months into the year with no goal and nothing to aim for or look forward to.
All my running for AGES has been looking forward to London (I had a place for 2015 but had to defer) so now I feel a bit lost!Anyone else feel this way after achieving their target? I probably just need to give it another week or so of recovery and get back into the swing of running just for the enjoyment of running but at the moment I just feel a bit apathetic.

Do a few interval sessions and you'll get the speed bug again.
I think your HM performance is very strong. Spend the next few months doing 10k races and parkruns and aim for a summer HM PB? Richmond Half Marathon in Sept looks fairly flat and close(ish) for you.

I had been thinking of doing the Bournemouth half or full marathon but didn't want to commit to anything in case I thought "never again" after London. I think I could go faster, and I could definately be fitter going into it so it should be more enjoyable. Just got to keep injury free.
My mum, who has run several marathons, recommends not targeting another marathon until next spring and sticking to shorter events in the meantime.
Richmond could be a good shout, the course covers some of the same ground as the Old Deer Park HM which is where I set my current PB earlier in the year.

Thankfully it was the strap, old T31 coded.
My hr matches my rpe once more so I can find something else to be anxious about instead.

Race the Train entered, full distance this year, unlikely to trouble the record keepers. Anyone else tempted?

was
Still is? It's a great race, not only for being on a Saturday pm with a marquee party later (poor quality p.a. system and 'party tunes' dj allowed for) so Sunday to recover.

I think so yeah. Current circumstances means I'll hopefully find out on Tuesday if it's a go-er.

That's a lot of cake and beer. Enjoy your mini tour, weather looks like it's improving too.

Cool, if you're bringing others to watch be sure to get them onto the train, always good to be heckled by friends as the train is going past!

Am running a 10k this morning, its an official UKA one
just seen this on their web page"Strictly NO Personal Stereos/MP3 players/iPods or similar devices to be worn whilst running; this will result in disqualification. "
WTF - is this usual? and is it a rule generally enforced?

Chalgrove 10k?
I don't know if it's common, but I'm racing Chalgrove and noticed a similar stipulation. Chalgrove takes place on open roads (as do many races) and thus headphones are deemed dangerous. I've definitely seen it in other races too.
Good luck!

People wearing headphones in races is my pet peeve.

+1 no need in races.

I agree, either be part of the event or run alone.

Apparently uka allow headphones on closed road circuits but not open roads. I'm also not a fan of headphones in races, however I suspect this is mainly due to the fact I never wear headphones when running anyway and so struggle to see why people would want to... I've never had a problem with someone else wearing them though.
On the start line of the Chalgrove 10k today, the announcer reiterated the warning that headphones were not allowed (after clearly announcing it on the race details). A woman near me in the starting pen failed to hear the warning due to wearing headphones so I tapped her elbow and politely told her what the announcer was saying. She snappily said she didn't care, that it was too late now and replaced the headphones in her ear... Don't know if she was dq'd.

ok. so i've been 'training' while listening to music. but having done the run, some of which was on open roads, i get why they dont want people to wear them. i didnt miss them at all and came in on 59 mins. well pleased. had two beers and bbq food after.

Incidentally I've never seen anyone dq'd for it.
It's a pretty standard rule even for off road events. Along with no dogs etc.

Making some of Jureks Eat & Run recipes.
The Shockolat Energy Balls are tasty, and the multi-flour Strawberry pancake mix is moreish.
Looking at smokey refried beans nearly done, not visually appealing but taste ok, got a feeling that'll get even better after a night in the fridge like chilli does.

Bought all the ingredients for the Shockolat Balls but never made them. The Holy Moly Guacamole is good though.
